DESIGN ELEMENT & PRINCIPLE
The idea of this project is to start off by creating a tattoo stamp and later transform it into a model.
PROJECT BRIEF
I choose a design element and a design principle within your tutorial group and work on creating your design in tattoo stamps and model. After going through the brief , each person can have same design element to work with different/same principles as each tutorial session progresses
INTERPRETATION OF DESIGN ELEMENT & PRINCIPLES
The design element that I wanted to bring it to 3d model was Shapes-Symmetry, Lines-Rhythm, Form-Repetition. At this point I was interpreting the 2D shapes to communicate my design elements & principle
DESIGN PROCESS
LINES & RHYTHM
The architectural elements and principles applied in this model design are used to express and explain how a simple curvilinear lines can produce a rhythm by implying movement in it and create a sense of harmony in the overall composition .
SHAPES & SYMMETRY
After finalizing my idea of 2D, shapes, i continue to manipulate them to create 3D form . Shapes and Symmetry used in this design create an effect and help to convey my design intent to show how circle can show it’s symmetrical balance by itself to the viewer
FORM & REPETITION
This model shows that how a 2D shape can make a huge impact on three-dimensional design or model. When a form that being repeated ,they give uniformity, cadence, and movement to the overall architectural model in the end
TATTO STAMPS
Identify key architectural design elements and principles and employ them in creating a Tattoo stamps.
MOCK-UPS
Identify key architectural design elements and principles and employ them in creating a Test models to explore different forms.
MOCK PRESENTATION
Had mock presentation to explain my design intention to tutor, I have changed few thinking ideas at this time according to tutor suggestion / comment .
COMMENTS / FEEDBACKS
Received constructive feedbacks from my lecturer to further develop my models
FINAL WORK
Finalized Pdf slide attached below:
Demonstrate satisfactory manual drawing and model-making skills to represent and communicate the design.
REFLECTION
DISIPLINE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
I've learned real-life examples form my tutor's teachings. With these knowledge, I've learned develop freehand drawing skills through combination of self-expression, manual drawings, architectural lettering, model making ,tonal values and rendering.
THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING
I managed develop skills in exploring various approaches in translating ideas, design translation and interpretation and explore varied forms of design principles in communication and expression of self and its sense .I faced many challenges, especially in getting inspiration and re-analyzing my model. When I was advised to improve on it, I keep updated my progress to my tutor.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
I communicate well and interact with my tutor effectively whenever I'm having difficulties. Upon completing my poster now I'm capable choosing the right colour palette to capture the essence and express the design intention.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
I've learned to communicate with my tutor whenever I'm unclear on certain directions of the task. I was keep updating my progress to my lecture in a short tutorial time with good communication skills.
